We’re Elise and Kurt, we met and fell in love in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. It was in a mobile bottling line that we first met… real romantic. We bonded quickly over smells and flavours, cooking and being in nature.

We toughed out covid in maybe the most idyllic village in Canada, each working for our favourite wine producers in the region. Once we were able to travel at the end of 2021 we decided to spend Christmas with Elise’s parents in the Haut Languedoc. It had been two years since Elise saw them since heading West to Canada.

It was during this trip that we discovered the Haut Vallée de l’Orb, which is around the corner from Elise’s parents. We made the not easy decision to leave our idyllic wine village in Canada and move to the South of France at the end of the following year.

We thought we would eventually start a small Chardonnay project after studying the climate and seeing what was planted in the area. We were in no rush but somehow found our two Chardonnay vineyards almost immediately. We signed the leases in January 2023 with nothing more than a couple pairs of secateurs and some big ideas about farming sustainably and making the Chardonnay we love to drink.

After more than two years commuting 40km between our home and our Vineyards and Winery we moved full time to live less than a kilometre from our two largest parcels and 126 steps to the cellar.

We are happy to be able to receive visitors more often now that we are more often right next to the winery. We will be opening our cellar for the first time this summer for tastings and to be able to tell the whole story of how we found ourselves in vineyards hidden below the Col des Très Vents.
