Chardonnay on Limestone
Les Barris is a very steep hidden slope almost entirely surrounded by forrest. The rock formation “Les Orgues de Taussac” tower above like a beacon, and remind me of the Roche de Solutré in southern Burgundy. Top soil is non existent in certain rows with nothing but fist sized limestone rocks visible at the surface. This parcel is ever so slightly shaped like a saddle and so part of the vineyard faces south and another part faces north. This parcel is surrounded on all sides by natural springs that run above ground most of the year. From the top of the parcel we see the spa town of Lamalou-les-Bains.
Les Barris doesn’t share the same ancient history as our other parcel but we believe we are here to help create that history now.
Vive Les Barris!
